Here is my report from Oberhausen. I thought it was better then the one in Stockholm
Oberhausen At 11 my personal driver came round for the 1,3 hour drive to Oberhausen for my second Il Divo concert of 2012. With a little help from the gps we found the arena without any problems and were able to park in the garage next to the arena. It was a beautiful sunny day so we spent most of the afternoon sitting and eating on a lounge sofa at the boulevard by water which is situated by the Arena and the big shopping centre. After a few hours and a Starbcuks visit, we went back to the car to change and put some new make- up on and then walked to the ticketoffice to pick up our tickets. We had front row seats, but got a mail two days before the concert that we had been moved back a row. Still good seats, but not what was promised. It turned out that the front row of the middle block was filled with M&G people.
Standing in line I met up with a lot of people, so had a nice chat with everyone before going in to the Arena. You good only reach the ground floor by going down high stairs, which is not easy in high heels, but I manged. I sat in the middle block pretty much in the middle, so great seats.
The show started just a few minutes late and was great. I thought the show was better then the one in Stockholm. The guys where feeling better and it was a great crowd. The guys did the best talking in German of couse Urs only talked German, which was really appriciated by the Germans.
I think it was by the second of third song, the guys where standing on the stairs and then Seb did a little pirouette on the stairs much to the amusement of David and Urs. When David untied his bowtie, he got a lot of response from the crowd, he replied: “ ït is just the bowtie”. Urs helped him with his collar and got named the new stylist.
When Seb did his little talk. He said that they do read all the letters they get and the things people write on FB. He commented on a letter that he had read just the other day about a Diva who was really ill and how there music helped her. He was so touched by that and he did name her personally since she was in the crowd that night. It was such a sweet and tender moment. So Seb like.
My Way was really funny. When Seb and Carlos did the little hug Urs rushed over and stood between them with his arms around them. David came over to join, but was not allowed. Seb did a little fake kick at David. Poor David. Luckely Urs told him to come over for their singing bit together.
Seb sang Frere Jacques again while the crowd did the bells. Urs asked the crowd about the German version and a older lady on the front for helped him out by telling him the German version was called Vater Jacob and the Urs sang the first line of the Swiss version of the song. Very funny.
A lot of people were singing anc clapping and dancing during la Vida and Pour Que. You can really tell the guys love seeing that. One of the best moments was David doing the end speech before somewhere. Off course when he said it was time to say goodby the crowd went NOO, David went Yes, crowd goes NOOO. David then said quite sternly Ja ( just like you would say it in German), but he did not expect the whole crowd saying very loudly and just a sternly saying NEIN. The look on David’s face was priceless. He was like WHAT and actually jumped back. Carlos almost choked on his water and Urs was cracking himself up. It was to funny for words.
Overall it was a great concert and I went back home quite happly
What was lost, is found.
